Know You Got 2011

Know You Got is half art happening, half straight-up good time. The work is inspired by the visual similarity between Marina Abramovic and Ulay’s Imponderabilia and Soul Train’s generation-defining line dances. The entrance of the gallery was hidden and lined by a row of participants clapping and cheering surprised visitors as they entered the gallery. This rendition took place during Nuit Blanche 2011. the line was populated by local dancers, activists, curators, artists, illustrators, and musicians invested in the power of funk music.
